Why This Student Initiative Matters
Formula Student 2025 represents the culmination of 11 months of rigorous research, structural finite element analysis, and mechanical prototyping executed entirely by student engineers. Following three consecutive years of podium placements in national endurance tracks, our chapter is leaping directly into competitive autonomous racing. Unlike corporate motorsport development, student-run racing requires our cross-disciplinary team to source every composite panel, fabricate circuit boards, and write the computer vision software from the ground up. Every unit contributed converts directly into aerospace-grade pre-preg carbon fiber, custom silicone wiring harnesses, and battery management components.
“Our students don't merely inspect technical blueprints. They program the CAN bus controllers, hand-lay every carbon layer, and validate braking forces under high telemetry loads. This is pure experiential engineering.”

Field Engineering Updates (3)
Chassis Spaceframe Jigging & Roll Hoop Dynamic Load Passed
We completed 48 straight hours of precision TIG welding on the 4130 chromoly tubular spaceframe. Torsional rigidity testing matched our simulated FEA data within a 3.4% margin of error. The chassis is now ready for vacuum-bagged monocoque skinning.
Autonomous Telemetry Sensor Fusion Tested
Autonomous pipeline bench testing completed. The stereoscopic cameras and LiDAR puck successfully rendered 360-degree point clouds under artificial track conditions with 18ms latency.
Campaign Approved & Stage 1 Materials Ordered
The Student Activity Treasury verified our initial supplier quotations. Pre-preg carbon twill shipments are en route from the specialized distributor.
